Reiss Nelson Signs New Contract with Arsenal: Confirmed

Arsenal has officially announced the signing of Reiss Nelson on a new long-term contract. The 23-year-old winger, who technically became a free agent in June, has rejected offers from clubs both domestically and internationally, including notable interest from Italy, to remain at his beloved childhood club.

Nelson previously agreed to a long-term contract with Emirates Stadium in 2018 and has since gained valuable experience during loan spells with Hoffenheim and Feyenoord.

During his time at Arsenal, Nelson has made 66 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists. His exceptional performance in the 3-2 victory over Bournemouth in March earned him the prestigious title of the Premier League's Gamechanger of the Season for 2023/24.

The talented player has committed to a four-year deal with Arsenal and will continue to provide crucial coverage on the flanks, supporting Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal on the Verge of Finalizing £105m Deal for Declan Rice's Transfer from West Ham

Arsenal is in the final stages of securing the terms for a £105m agreement to acquire West Ham's midfielder, Declan Rice. The guaranteed portion of the fee is expected to be paid in three instalments over a span of 24 months.

West Ham has agreed to sell Rice for £100m plus an additional £5m in add-ons, and the transfer is nearing completion. Arsenal initially intended to spread the cost of the guaranteed payment over five years, but they have had to reduce the number of instalments in order to bring their top summer target, preferred by Mikel Arteta, to the Emirates Stadium. Ongoing discussions are focusing on the details of the add-ons, while Rice is anticipated to undergo a medical examination and join Arsenal within the coming week. The tight payment schedule is designed to support West Ham's financial position, as they were placed on Uefa's Financial Fair Play watchlist in September of the previous year.

Earlier, Manchester City expressed interest in Rice after losing Ilkay Gündogan to Barcelona and had a £90m bid for the West Ham captain rejected just last week. City ultimately withdrew from the bidding process after Arsenal, who had already faced two rejected offers, surpassed the £100m mark for the 24-year-old.

The champions were unwilling to engage in a bidding war with Arsenal and believed that West Ham's demands, particularly concerning the payment structure, were excessively high.

As Arsenal prepares for another title challenge, they have been making substantial investments. They have already secured the signing of Germany attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65m. Additionally, a deal to acquire Ajax defender Jurrien Timber for £40m is close to completion. To make room for Rice in midfield, Arsenal plans to offload Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey.

Xhaka is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen, while Thomas Partey has attracted interest from Juventus and clubs in the Saudi Pro League. Arsenal could further raise funds by selling USA striker Folarin Balogun and Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares.

Although Rice was open to joining Manchester City, Arsenal was always his preferred choice. The English international admires Arteta's football philosophy and is believed to have already agreed to the terms of a long-term contract. Arteta has made significant efforts to court Rice and believes that his physicality and leadership will enhance Arsenal's chances of ending Manchester City's dominance in the Premier League.

In addition to Rice, Arsenal is interested in securing another midfielder, with Romeo Lavia of Southampton valued at £45m. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have also shown interest in the 19-year-old talent.

West Ham, on the other hand, is actively searching for Rice's replacement and has shown interest in João Palhinha from Fulham, Denis Zakaria from Juventus, Amadou Onana from Everton, and James Ward-Prowse from Southampton. They may also consider reviving their pursuit of Edson Álvarez if the Ajax midfielder's move to Borussia Dortmund falls through.

Mikel Arteta Dismisses PSG Speculation, but Suggests Interest in La Liga Move in the Future

Mikel Arteta has put an end to speculation surrounding his future, refuting reports that he has held discussions with Paris Saint-Germain to become their next manager.

The Spanish coach has garnered praise for his impressive work in revitalizing Arsenal, leading them to a second-place finish in the Premier League this season with stylish football.

Earlier this month, surprising news emerged that Arteta had engaged in talks with PSG's sporting director, Luis Campos, as the French glamour club searched for a replacement for Christophe Galtier. In April, it became known that PSG was among the admirers of Arteta, monitoring his situation as Arsenal temporarily put contract negotiations on hold to focus on the title race. Arteta's current contract at the Emirates runs until 2025.

However, the 41-year-old, who spent two seasons as a player at PSG in the early 2000s, told Marca that he is content at Arsenal. He stated, "I can only say that I am happy at Arsenal. I feel loved, valued by our owners, Stan and Josh [Kroenke], and I have a lot to do here at this club. I am happy and tremendously grateful to be at Arsenal."

Arteta shares a special bond with Arsenal and its fans, having spent five seasons at the club as a player before returning as the manager in 2019 after serving as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City. In his debut season as head coach, he secured the FA Cup, and last season he ensured the return of Champions League football to the revered Emirates Stadium after a six-year absence.

While ruling out an immediate move, Arteta did not dismiss the possibility of returning to his homeland, Spain, in the future. He expressed, "Spain is my country. I have been away for many years, and at some point, it could be an option to return to La Liga and have different experiences. But not now..."

Arteta still follows La Liga matches whenever possible, particularly those played at night, which suits his schedule better. He mentioned that his children also watch a lot of football on TV.

When discussing his admiration for current Barcelona manager Xavi, Arteta revealed their shared history, stating, "I have known him since we played together at Barca. His character and his deep understanding of the game made it evident that Barcelona needed someone like him. He has handled the pressure and remained loyal to his ideas, always defending the club and the players. The team has been consistently reliable throughout the year."

Both Arteta and Xavi were part of Barcelona B's squad during the 1999-2000 season. However, while Xavi broke into the first team, Arteta struggled to secure opportunities for himself and eventually moved to Paris.

West Ham Urging Arsenal to Make Third Bid for Declan Rice, Manchester City Yet to Make Formal Offer

West Ham United is reportedly urging Arsenal to submit a third bid for Declan Rice in order to bring an end to the transfer saga surrounding the midfielder. Arsenal has been strongly linked with the England international and has already had two bids turned down.

With Manchester City also interested in Rice, there is added pressure on Mikel Arteta's side as they look to secure the player's services. However, as of now, Manchester City has not made an official bid for Rice. According to TalkSPORT, West Ham is encouraging Arsenal to make another offer to expedite the resolution of the saga.

The report also mentions that Manchester City has held discussions with West Ham but has yet to present a formal offer. It is believed that Rice has expressed a preference for a move to Arsenal. Recent reports indicated that West Ham anticipated a forthcoming improved offer from Arsenal while Manchester City put pressure on the Gunners.

Nevertheless, West Ham has not received an improved bid beyond the previous offer of £90 million, which was rejected by the club. The situation regarding Manchester City's potential move for Rice remains uncertain, although Pep Guardiola is known to be a great admirer of the midfielder.

In other transfer news, Mateo Kovacic is set to complete his move to Manchester City after undergoing a medical examination on Friday. Ilkay Gundogan's potential departure could impact Manchester City's pursuit of Rice, while Bayern Munich has reportedly shown interest in Kalvin Phillips this summer.

With West Ham eager to bring the Rice transfer saga to a close, it is expected that there will be developments on this front in the near future.
