Arsenal has officially announced the signing of Reiss Nelson on a new long-term contract. The champions were unwilling to engage in a bidding war with Arsenal and believed that West Ham's demands, particularly concerning the payment structure, were excessively high.

Although Rice was open to joining Manchester City, Arsenal was always his preferred choice.
