Arsenal Transfer News Round-Up: Elanga Links, Tierney’s Farewell & Forward Chase Heats Up

As the summer transfer window picks up pace, Arsenal find themselves at the heart of several major story lines—ranging from high-profile targets and emotional goodbyes to battles with European giants over key signings. Here's a complete breakdown of the latest developments involving the Gunners.

Arsenal Eyeing £60M Move for Elanga

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga, with sources suggesting a potential transfer could cost the North London side around £60 million. The Swedish international, who impressed in the Premier League last season, is seen as a dynamic option for Mikel Arteta’s attacking setup. However, the steep asking price may require further negotiation

Sane Off the Market as He Joins Galatasaray

In a blow to both Arsenal and Spurs, Leroy Sané has opted for a new chapter in Turkey after departing Bayern Munich. The German winger has signed a three-year deal with Galatasaray, officially ending speculation about a Premier League return. Arsenal were previously linked, but missed out as Galatasaray swooped in quickly after his contract expired.

😢 Tierney Bids Emotional Farewell to Arsenal

After six eventful years at the Emirates, Kieran Tierney has officially returned to Celtic. In a heartfelt message on social media, the left-back thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans, saying:

"To be part of this special club for six years has meant so much to me... I appreciated everything and never took any of it for granted. North London forever."

The Scottish international’s departure marks the end of a memorable spell in North London, which some would say failed to leave up to expectations.

😲 Sesko Saga: Leipzig Hold Firm on Price

Arsenal’s pursuit of Benjamin Šeško has hit a potential roadblock. While initial expectations suggested the striker could be available for £60 million, RB Leipzig are now demanding closer to £70 million, which matches his release clause. With Saudi clubs entering the fray, Arsenal are wary of getting pulled into a bidding war and have yet to make a formal move.

Rodrygo Situation Opens Up for Arsenal

Arsenal may receive an unexpected boost in their interest in Rodrygo, with Real Madrid nearing the signing of 17-year-old Argentine sensation Franco Mastantuono. The teenager’s arrival could further limit Rodrygo’s role in Madrid, potentially opening the door for a summer switch. Though Liverpool and PSG are also monitoring the situation, Arsenal remain quietly hopeful.

Talks with AC Milan Over Defensive Duo

AC Milan have entered discussions with Arsenal about potential moves for Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Reports from Italy suggest Zinchenko could be available for under £13 million, due to his contract winding down and relatively high wages. Milan are exploring a structured deal to make the move financially viable.

Nico Williams in Bayern Talks Amid Arsenal Interest

In another potential blow to Arsenal’s winger search, Bayern Munich have opened discussions with Nico Williams, the Athletic Bilbao star. Reports indicate the player is keen on a move to Germany, although Bayern are still weighing options. PSG’s Bradley Barcola remains Bayern’s top target, but his transfer could be difficult due to PSG’s unwillingness to sell.

Arsenal and United to Duel for Gyökeres

Adding more fire to the transfer window, both Arsenal and Manchester United have now reportedly met with Gyökeres’ representatives. With no official bids tabled yet, formal offers from both Premier League sides are expected within hours, according to Portuguese media. Sporting’s stance remains firm, but interest is clearly heating up.

Real Madrid Try to Hijack Arsenal’s Zubimendi Deal in a Desperate Final Push

Real Madrid are reportedly making a final push to sign Martín Zubimendi, the standout Real Sociedad midfielder who’s been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks.

Sources in Spain suggest that Madrid see Zubimendi as a rare talent, with no comparable options currently on the market in his position. However, there’s uncertainty over whether the player even wants a move—he’s said to admire new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, calling him his “idol,” and is believed to favor staying in La Liga.

Late last month, rumors surfaced that Zubimendi had traveled to London for a medical, sparking talk of an imminent move to Arsenal. But shortly after, the Spanish international was seen posting vacation photos from a beach, casting doubt on those claims.

Arsenal are prepared to meet his €60 million release clause, while Real Madrid are hoping to negotiate a different deal. Reports indicate Madrid might offer Real Sociedad a few young players on loan—free of charge—in hopes of lowering the fee.

If that offer is turned down, Madrid will face a clear choice: pay the full clause or risk missing out on Zubimendi altogether.

Why Are Arsenal Becoming The Dumping Ground For Chelseal's Rejects

Every single transfer window, it’s the same story: Arsenal are linked with yet another Chelsea reject.

Seriously—it's becoming exhausting, even nauseating.

We’ve barely moved on from the disastrous signing of Raheem Sterling last summer with his underwhelming performances, and now we’re reportedly looking at Kepa Arrizabalaga, a goalkeeper who cost Chelsea £70 million and failed to justify even half of that price tag. And why? Because we’re bargain hunting again.

The Excuse: “We Just Need a Backup Goalkeeper”

Let’s be fair for a moment. Yes, we need a backup goalkeeper. And no, it doesn’t make sense to spend a fortune on someone who’s just going to sit behind David Raya. But surely, there are more affordable, reliable goalkeeping options out there than the man Chelsea themselves are desperate to move on from?

Does our scouting network stretch no further than across London to Stamford Bridge?

Arsenal’s Transfer Strategy Is Becoming Predictable—and Concerning

This isn’t about overreacting to one rumor. It’s about a growing pattern that fans have noticed for years.

Arsenal are increasingly behaving like a club that cleans up after Chelsea’s mistakes. From Willian to Jorginho, now potentially Kepa—the club is beginning to look more like a recycling center for Chelsea’s unwanted squad players than a top Premier League contender.

What’s more troubling is the perception that somehow these players will suddenly become world beaters the moment they walk through the doors at London Colney. It almost never works that way. If a player couldn’t make the grade at Chelsea, why would they be a solution for a side trying to win the big trophies?

Where Is the Scouting? Where Is the Ambition?

The bigger issue lies in the lack of forward-thinking strategy.

Where’s the clever recruitment? Where are the data-driven, high-upside signings we see from clubs like Brighton, Brentford, or even Aston Villa?

Why aren’t Arsenal identifying hungry, undervalued talents before they become cast-offs at rival clubs?

As a club with Arsenal’s stature, we should be setting the tone in the market—not scrambling to pick up what others have already discarded.

A Message to the Board: Stop the Pattern

Why do we keep making the same mistake over and over again?

Is the board truly so out of touch with the sentiments of the fan base that they think we’ll cheer for another ex-Chelsea squad player wearing red and white?

So here’s a sincere plea to Andreas Berta and the entire Arsenal hierarchy:

➡️ Please, steer clear of Chelsea’s unwanted players.

We wouldn’t mind a backup goalkeeper from the Championship, or even an unknown gem from Scandinavia. What we don’t need is another bloated wage, low-impact signing who couldn’t cut it elsewhere.

Arsenal Deserves Better

We deserve better.
Mikel Arteta deserves better.
And frankly—the Club
deserves better

Gabriel Magalhães Commits Future to Arsenal with New Long-Term Deal

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has put pen to paper on a fresh four-year contract, extending his stay at the club until 2029.

The 27-year-old Brazilian, who initially joined the Gunners from Lille in 2020 for a reported fee of £27 million, has become a vital presence in Mikel Arteta’s backline. His previous contract was set to run until 2027, but this new deal underscores Arsenal’s commitment to securing the core of their squad for the long term.

Since arriving in North London, Gabriel has grown into one of the team’s most dependable players. With 210 appearances and 20 goals to his name, he has forged a formidable defensive partnership with William Saliba and has regularly posed a threat from set-pieces.

Speaking after signing his new contract, Gabriel shared his gratitude and ambition:

“I came here as a young player still finding my way. Nearly five years later, I’m incredibly proud of my journey. Arsenal means so much to me and my family. This club has helped me grow, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward and hopefully lift trophies. The support from the fans, the bond with my teammates, and playing at the Emirates — it’s all very special to me.”

Despite missing the final stretch of last season due to hamstring surgery, Gabriel is expected to return in time for the start of the new campaign.

With Gabriel’s future now secured, Arsenal are reportedly looking to extend the contracts of other key players. Talks are ongoing with the likes of William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, as the club continues to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have confirmed that midfielder Jorginho and defender Kieran Tierney will depart at the end of the month upon the expiry of their contracts. Discussions regarding Thomas Partey’s future are also understood to be in progress.

As Arsenal prepare for another title challenge, keeping core players like Gabriel signals a clear intent to build consistency and stability at the heart of the squad.
